TITANIC DISASTER: NEW THEORY FINGERS COAL FIRE

A smoldering coal fire and the continuing attempt to control it through the voyage may have led to the sinking of the Titanic 92 years ago, says engineer Robert Essenhigh of Ohio State University.
Degration of titanic: effect
Most of the degration that occurs to the titanic is caused due to the hostile nature of deep ocean environment.

This will affect the single company that retreives artifacts from it.
World War I: the Titanic age
Many events far worse than that of 9/11 took place in the 1910's, supposedly the most profitable time in history for operators of the transatlantic liners.
Cunard Line
The Cunard Line is the British cruise line that operates the RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) and RMS Queen Mary 2 (QM2) cruise ships.

Sir Samuel Cunard
The Industrial Revolution had progressed far enough by the 1830's to make the idea of transatlantic communication by means of a fleet of steamships plausible.
Roots of qm2 goes back to Titanic's great heritage
Now, on this website you will note much debate about Titanic. In the history of things it is important to note that the RMS Titanic was not really classified as a cruise but the 3 sisters including Titanic Olympic and Britannic were setting the luxury standard if you would.
Archimedes Principle lesson from Titanic
A good article on Archimedes Principle written by a USA Lecturer at Newark High School from December 1998.

Altough dated, it gives insight into the reason why Thomas Andrews could staunchly defend his principle why the Titanic would eventually sink at a rate of 1-2 hours. Even with the pumps working, He didn't have to take into account the size of the porthole damage the iceberg had done to Titanic.

Using the Titanic to Teach Archimedes Principle
By Peter J. Yonko

One line in a scene from the movie Titanic was the inspiration for one of my physics lessons. Watching this scene, I saw how I could use the mystique of the great ship to bring Archimedes principle to life. In the scene, we see Mr. Andrews, Titanic's designer, enter with several ship drawings. He unfolds them on a table with great urgency. As Andrews explains the dire situation, Captain Smith asks eagerly about the pumps. Andrews replies, From this moment, no matter what I do, Titanic will founder. Mr. Ismay, an executive with White Star Lines, says in disbelief, But this ship can't sink Andrews sternly replies, She is made of iron, sir. I assure you she can and she will. It is a mathematical certainty.
